Building sector in Slovakia grew in February

Seasonally adjusted building production of Slovak construction companies increased by 0,4 % in February month-on-month, while it declined by 3,3 % within the Eurozone. The building production within entire EU fell by 2,9 % compared to January. Compared to the second month of 2009, the production of Slovak construction industry fell by 19,7 % in February. This is a higher decline in comparison with the Eurozone where the decline was 10,2 %. Eurostat, the statistical office for the EU informed about this. Among the EU member countries, the construction sector in February month-on-month fell in 7 coutries, grew in 5 countries and remained the same in the Czech Republic.
