Prague processing comments of new development plan
The city of Prague has been working on comments on the new development plan concept over a year. 16,000 of them have been submitted eventually. Most of the objections concern small plots, especially gardening allotments, a portion of the comments is also devoted to several long-term problems, such as a golf course in the Klánovice forest or the route of Prague´s ringroad from Ruzyně via Suchdol to Březiněves. The city authority will prepare an expert opinion regarding each comment, capital´s council will either accept or reject them. They might receive the documents in summer next year [ie. 2011].
The concept of the development plan was published last November [ie. in 2009], stakeholders could then express their opinions and submit comments. It was originally envisaged that the draft new development plan would be approved by the previous city council. The new plan was estimated to become valid in 2012. This deadline will probably not be met. After approval the new development plan concept, the final draft will be prepared. The new development plan should affect development of the city for the next 15 to 20 years. New underground D line is expected as well as development of tramway and railway routes. It includes construction of the inner and outer ringroad, extension of the central wasterwater treatment plant or a tunnel between Masarykovo and Smíchov railway stations.
