Number of real-estate agencies in CZ declined for the first time in ten years

The number of real-estate agencies in the Czech Republic has decreased slightly for the first time in ten years. In 2010, 18,838 entities operated in the domestic realtor market, it was 19,010 in 2009. Real-estate agencies also failed to increase their earnings last year.

The activities of real-estate agencies have been significantly affected by the economic crisis and the slump in real estate business in the last two years. According to statisticians, their sales decreased by 11.5 per cent last year. In the last quarter of 2010 the yoy decline in real estate sales was 13.9 per cent.
