Vodafone wants green headquarters

Vodafone´s Czech branch will move from the current headquarters at Na Vinici in Strašnice in 3.5 years to new “green“ headquarters which will be built for them by Finep in Prague´s Stodůlky near metro station. One of the reasons for the move are growing demands for environmental parametres of Vodafone headquarters. The new seat with an area of about 16,000 sqm will be one of the first LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) office buildings in Prague. In addition, the mobile operator will save operational costs significantly in the long-term thanks to environmentally friendly operation. Compared to Na Vinici building, Vodafone will use by about one-fifth less space in the new headquarters. “This is mainly due to better work with space and partly because a number of employees use the so-called flex office where they can occasionally work from home,” said spokesman Miroslav Čepický.

The operator will also be leasing the new headquarters. Finep should start building next year. For example Siemens already has a seat in the neighbourhood, also Komerční banka should move to this location.
