Golf course to be built in Žiarska dolina in the Tatras

The company eko DP invest, s.r.o. plans to build a leisure and sports area, with an estimated price of EUR 15 to 25 million, in Žiarska dolina in the Western Tatras. A part of the complex will be an 18-hole golf course, training space, a clubhouse, a hotel centre and apartment houses. The premises with a total area of nearly 68 hectares is located in Sihoť near Tatranska magistrála (Tatras arterial road). The company intends to start building the 66-hectare golf course in April 2012, its completion is scheduled for October 2013. The company has not specified starting date of the construction of the accommodation premises. The investment should bring a total of 55 jobs to the region.

The premises will also include parking spaces for 367 cars. The project plan of eko DP invest is to expand the leisure and sports options in the region and thus make use of its touristic potential. “The golf centre will complement all-year leisure activites in co-operation with numerous skiing resorts, water parks, Liptovská Mara dam and hiking in the surrounding mountains, and it will increase the attractiveness of the entire Liptov region,“ the investor states in its project.
