Jan Beránek will be in charge of Prague Investment Department

As expected, Jan Beránek will become Head of City Investment Department, which is in charge of large buildings in Prague. He will take office on 1st February. The Council selected Jan Teska as head of IT department which is responsible for the problematic Opencard project, among others.

Former heads of both crucial departments, Martin Vimr and Jan Zlatohlávek resigned at the beginning of December after the new ODS and TOP 09 coalition entered office. Thirty-five-year-old Beránek previously worked as technical advisor to the Deputy Director General of Czech Railways asset management, for example. He graduated from Faculty of Civil Engineering at Czech Technical University. In recent years, he supposedly collaborated with the team of Prague Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS), who dealt with the construction of the criticized Blanka tunnel.
