The Buildings of the Year (Stavba roku) 2010 are in no particular order – the renovated Malostranská beseda in Prague; a small hydroelectric power station in Železný Brod; office centre Vinice in Pardubice; outside pool in Hradec Králové and sports and health centre in Olomouc. Building of the past decade in the capital is the section of metro line C between the Holešovice and Ládví stops.
Malostranská beseda also won the President of the Senate award and the Mayor of Prague award. The State Fund for Transport Infrastructure award received the R35 road between Hradec Králové and Opatovice. The State Environmental Fund awarded a prize to the Centre of Ecological Education in Kladno. The State Fund of Housing Support award received Centrum Dolní Břežany. The public have chosen the hydroelectric power plant in Železný Brod for the Building of the Year in e-voting.
The jury assessed the quality of the completed projects, quality of their architectural design and its management by the contractor, investors´ and users´ satisfaction. The results have been published today to coincide with the 4th annual Day of Building and Architecture.
