Construction output at constant prices declined year-on-year by 2,1 % in August, after the July fall of 4,5 %. Number of started flats in August decreased by 13,6 % to 2,794 in August, stated the Czech Statistical Office. “The figures are for a summer month and we didn´t expect any drama there,“ said Václav Matyáš, president of the Association of Building Entrepreneurs of the Czech Republic (ABE), to the Czech News Agency. A year-on-year fall of the sector by roughly ten per cent is, however, expected at the end of the year.
