On the premises of the former Beroun textile plant Tiba may be built a Tesco supermarket. The investor wants to build several tens of flats with a car park on the extensive area. The construction will take place on the land marked as production zone in the town zoning plan which is not owned by the town, said Petra Švédová, spokesperson for Beroun town hall, to the Czech News Agency.
According to her, the investor is also offering construction of a new connecting road, parallel with Plzeňská street inside the current premises which will connect the Litava housing estate with junction near the motorway exit. Construction of a new roundabout is also being considered. According to the town zoning plan, over 20 per cent of the total land area will be only greenery. The town is striving for up to a double of this, according to Švédová.
