Prostějov city hall has started to work on a new zoning plan. On the basis of a tender, its elaboration was commissioned to a company from Brno, Knesl + Kynčl. It will cost approximately CZK 5.5 million. In the coming months, inhabitants can comment on the concept of the strategic document addressing the current city transport situation as well as new construction. Zdeněk Fišer, city vice-mayor (Czech Social Democratic Party), said this to the Czech News Agency.
The current zoning plan of the fifty-thousand city of Prostějov is already 15 years old and it needed to be amended several times. The new document should mainly enable further development of the city. The new zoning plan will not only enlarge Prostějov built-up area but also reserve areas for transport construction. The document for instance expects possible construction of a ring-road which will divert haulage from the city. The new zoning plan will not deal with only Prostějov but also its city districts
