Construction of AZ Tower, the new highest building in Brno and the Czech Republic, will start in the second half of April. This project by the company Properity will cost CZK 800 million excl. VAT. The project should be completed by May 2013. The 109.5-metre high skyscraper will stand near the city centre. It will offer shops and offices, the top floors of the house are designed for luxury apartments. The skyscraper will be built by PSJ from Jihlava. A part of the financing will be provided by UniCredit Bank. Investor of the construction is a company eTower, AZ Properity will provide engineering. The site where the investor plans to build is very attractive. The surrounding high-rise buildings already include 60-metre high M palace. CTP Invest started again the construction of 85-metre high building in their Spielberk Office Centre last year which was supposed to be the highest building in Brno. However, AZ Tower, after its completion, will overtake it. The question is how long it will keep the first position of the highest building. The architect Eva Jiřičná has designed a 117-metre skyscraper for the wider city of Brno and investor HS Investment The highest building in the country is the City Tower at Prague´s Pankrác so far. It is 109 metres high.
