The charge for land registration will double from 1st January. As of New Year, an amendment increasing the charge from the current 500 to 1,000 crowns enters into force. The government explains this increase by the fact that the current fee has been valid since 1994 and hasn´t increased since then. In addition, the Czech Republic has the lowest land registration administrative charge compared to other EU countries. For example, in Slovakia it is 66 euro, ie. about 1,600 crowns.

Companies will not need to submit Business Register extract if the data can be verified on the Internet. The amendment also eliminates use of bullying legal actions designed to make a competitor´s position difficult or to prevent establishment of a right to property. The amendment should also allow deleting old liens taken from the Estate Register kept until 1964.
