Construction of Bratislava’s River Park is said not to be affected by the crisis

The construction of the first stage of the multipurpose complex River Park in Bratislava, on the left bank of the Danube at PKO, is not affected by the economic crisis, said Maroš Sýkora, spokesman for J&T Real Estate Maroš Sýkora. “The construction work continues as scheduled, there’s no reason to suspend it. Work went as expected last year as well, even though we had longer negotiations on financing with the banks,” Sýkora said. The shell of the complex is finished and currently work is done on the interiors. The five-star Kempinski Hotel is the priority at present. The spokesman also confirmed that flats are still sold in the future complex, despite the crisis. At the end of last year the company announced a price cut, in some cases even by 40%, and since then the prices have not been reduced any more. “It revived the market. It was a good move, we were the only company that managed to sell flats at that time,” he said. On average, the company managed to sell 1.5 flats a day, which he described as a standard to very good volume. 103 out of the final 203 flats should be sold by now.
