Minister of Culture shall propose public procurement for STV and SRo new seat
Marek Maďarič, Minister of Culture, did not abandon the idea of a joint seat of the Slovak television (STV) and the Slovak Radio Broadcasting (SRo) companies, where the state press agency TASR could also have its offices. Consolidation of public media into single centre will be a significant measure in the time of financial and economic crisis. He will submit proposal for public procurement at any of the nearest government meetings. He wants to build new media premises, which should be developed in the street Pribinova nearby the new Slovak National Theatre for € 147,878,909, by the PPP form i.e. as a public private partnership (PPP) project. The government approved its development by the end of October 2007 and the SRo building called the upturned pyramid would be gained by the state. The SRo symphonic orchestra should use its concert studio and STV and SRo historical archives would remain there. A modern art gallery could be established therein as well. The joint media centre should be built in 3year time and its full operation is expected in 5 years.
