In the first half-year started construction of 11 102 apartments and 7 230 apartments was completed

In the first-half of 2009 started construction of 11 102 apartments in SR, with completed 7 230 apartments and at the end of June was under construction 69 978 ones. According to the Statistical Office of SR the number of started apartments declined semi-yearly by 1 829 (14.1%). Number of completed apartments increased by 104 (1.5%) and apartments under construction were more than 9 188 (15.1%). Among completed apartments private sector accounted for 6 741 apartments (semi-year growth of 7.3%). In the public sector it was 489 apartments, i.e. by 41.9% less. In the 1st half-year most of apartments was completed in the Bratislava (2 145), Trnava (1 009) and Žilina (1 003) regions, at least in the Košice region (492).
