Eurostat: Number of nights spent in the Slovak hotels declined

Slovakia recorded the fourth most significant year-on-year fall in the number of nights spent in hotels and other hotel establishments among the EU member states last year. In total, visitors spent 6,3 mill. nights, a decline of 18,1 % compared to 2008. Local guests spent 3,5 mill. nights in Slovak hotels which is a decrease of 6,3 %. Foreign visitors spent 2,8 mill. nights in Slovakia which represents a drop by 28,4 %. The highest fall was recorded in the May to August period, 19,4 % year-on-year. This is according to data published by Eurostat.
