Revitalization works on Hodžovo Square in Bratislava ended yesterday by placing tiles on the part of the square from Banskobystrická Street. How notified Eva Chudinová, the municipality spokeswoman, the objective was mainly to prevent cars parking along the square as well as to create from the square a space for a short rest. In addition to the new pavement also movables and green places are revitalized. The costs for the square revitalization are more than 98 thousand €.
With treating Hodžovo Square the capital began in March. First, the black cast-iron columns were fitted to prevent the unrestrained parking; all around the square they added 130 of them and they are linked with hanging chains of the total length of 300 m. The entry is only permitted in the places designated for cars in the service of the President, the police and the magistrate. They gradually removed 70 concrete benches and 3 concrete rubbish bins. Instead of them they embedded 38 new Viennese-type wooden benches that Bratislava inhabitants know from the Main Square.
