Business hindered by politics and debt problems

In the first half of 2011, a total of 12,205 new firms were founded in the Czech Republic, which is a decrease of 3.5% compared to the same period last year. According to ČEKIA experts, interest in business is hindered by unstable legislative environment, permanent governmental crisis, corruption scandals, as well as debt problems in the world. Most companies, 41% of the total, were founded in Prague. A relatively strong position, but with a significant distance from Prague, also have the South-Moravian (1,127), Moravian-Silesian (789) and Central-Bohemian (635) regions. The lowest number of companies was founded in the Karlovy Vary (138), Liberec (189) and Vysočina (189) regions.

As of 30th June 2011, there were 350,236 capital companies, this is almost 10,000 more than a year ago. The data is based on the databases and calculations of the Czech Capital Information Agency (ČEKIA).
