New tallest building is unwilling for Banská Bystrica inhabitants

The Bratislava firm Trends intends to build-up a new larger centre of services, business and housing on the place of the old business centre Úsvit in the Švermova Street at Banská Bystrica, a part of which is to be the 22-storeyed residential high rise. The same number of storeys has also the highest building of Banská Bystrica – Europa Business Center until now. The planned high rise in the Úsvit centre, however, would tail more over the city panoramas, as it would stand on the hill.

The part of the population of Švermova Street and neighbour Jilemnického Street does not agree with the construction, because according to them means an excessive burden on the environment, the thickening of traffic, small space of the building from the land borders and from the neighbour buildings as well, destruction of green vegetation and also that Úsvit would not has any forelands as it is usual for civil constructions.

Paul Vaník, the head of the development and construction department to the Banská Bystrica magistrate stated that it must be proofed whether the proposed building does not shield the windows of neighbouring buildings. The construction of the new centre Úsvit should launch in October 2009 according to the investment program. Estimated cost is 28.215 millions Euro. In the new complex there should be spaces for business, services, housing, medical-diagnostic centre and basement parking.
