Bratislava: In return for the PKO maybe Istropolis or the new building in Petržalka

The Board of the capital city is looking for the substituting building for the Park of Culture and Leisure (PKO), which the investor can demolish on the basis of the extended demolition permit till the end of 2011. The spokeswoman of the Bratislava magistrate Eva Chudinová confirmed several alternatives. The city is reportedly reconsidering its original proposal of July 2005 to buy the building of Istropolis at Trnavské Mýto for approximately 6.64 million €. Another option would be construction of a new cultural stand on the place of the former Lido between the Old and the Port Bridges. The city of Bratislava has decided to get rid of PKO in the summer of 2005, when the city council sold the lands under it to Henbury Development Company for almost 281 millions SKK (9.33 millions €).
