Nitra: Shopping centre City Park to be completed
The shopping and leisure centre named City Park Nitra, on the bank of the Nitra river in Brezovy háj, which had been started in 2007, may finally be completed. The investor has stopped the construction due to financial problems and legal disputes over the land. The shell belongs to companies Doprastav and Istroconti who declared their interest to complete the project to the town authorities. As Jozef Dvonč, Nitra´s mayor, mentioned, the tenants of the shopping centre have withdrawn from the contracts in the meantime, only the company Tesco remained. City Park Nitra should provide 28 000 m2 of leaseable area with 70 shops, a supermarket, 14 restaurants and 10 services outlets. A sporting area of 7 500 m2, a U-ramp, a climbing wall, a basketball and volleyball field will be built in the vicinity. The project included a pedestrial bridge over the river and a small pier for boat rentals.
