Motorway near Prešov may be built by Doprastav and Strabag
More than 11-kilometre motorway section between Fričovce and Svinia near Prešov may be built by the companies Doprastav and Strabag. Národná diaľničná spoločnosť (NDS – National Motorway Company), after evaluating fulfilment of requirements for participation of ten candidates in the tender for the design and construction of the motorway has accepted their offer. CEO of Doprastav, Dušan Šamudovský, has confirmed this to SITA this Friday adding that the expected date of contract signing is not yet known, but the company wants to make this happen as soon as possible. The building syndicate composed of Doprastav and Strabag submitted the second cheapest bid in the public tender worth more than EUR 133 million excl. VAT.
NDS has excluded the cheapest bid by the group of companies HANT BA DS Považská Bystrica and Cestné stavby Liptovský Mikuláš from the tender. The two companies wanted to build the motorway, estimated at over EUR 213 million, for EUR 99 million. They used references of the Russian construction company Ramenskij Avtodor. On Friday the Internet portal Pravda.sk announced that NDS excluded the consortium with the lowest bid due to the disputed Russian reference.
