The state will operate and develop regional airports
The state wants to continue operating and developing the regional airports at Poprad, Sliač and Žilina, where remains the 99-percent shareholder. "The previous government moved majority of shares to cities, municipalities and self-administration regions in order to develop regional airports on the level of regions. Developments to date, however, do not indicate that they would step to development; they were very under-dimension, "said the transport minister Ľubomír Vážny. The government approved the proposal to sell a minority share of the state in the Piešťany airport at the level of 22.14% and the value of 5.035 million Euro for a symbolic price and the paid transfer of 16.01% shares of the business company Letisko (Airport) Piešťany owned by the state to the Trnava self-administration region.
