Construction works on the new terminal in Bratislava are progressing according to the plan
Construction works on the new terminal in the Bratislava airport continue without restriction of its operations. As informed Dana Madunická, the spokeswoman of the Airport of M.R. Štefánik – Airport Bratislava, a.s. builders seek to minimize their impact on the travelling public. Even if they are implemented according to the schedule, the intensive snowing in February, by her, disrupted plans a little. Till now they realized a floor and in the coming days it should be built to grow-up in the height. The Bratislava airport had not drawn the planned loan yet to finance a part of construction of the new terminal, because it was not needed, according to Madunická. The new terminal will be finished in May 2010 and the subsequent reconstruction of the existing terminal in February 2012. The capacity of the Bratislava airport, after its completion, will be nearly doubled from the current 2.6 mills to 5 mills passengers annually. The tender has won Zipp Bratislava Company with the cheapest among 3 bids – 85.91 mills Euro, VAT excluded.
