Košice and Miskolc - a joint tourism project
The mayor of Košice František Knapík signed the Treaty on allocation of non-repayable grant of 275 321 Euro for the project entitled „Promoting the development of tourism in the region through cross-border cooperation. The project will be financed from the European Regional Development Fund in the frame of the Program of cross-border cooperation Hungary – Slovakia 2007 – 2013.“ Hungarian and Slovak partners are financed from the project budget. Košice as a leader-partner of the project obtained the non-repayable contribution of 194 549 Euro from this amount and the town of Miskolc as the cross–border partner of Košice obtained the contribution of 80 772 Euro. The project aims to support the development of tourism in the border regions of Slovakia and Hungary through the creation of multilingual visitor’s information and promotional materials.
