Košice: enhanced safety and speed after tram line reconstruction

The reconstruction of the 800m long tram line from the VSS Bridge to the Nad Jazerom housing estate in Košice in both directions has been underway for several weeks. “We could renew the original tram transport to the Nad Jazerom estate within 15 days,” said Michal Tkáč, Chief Executive Officer of the Košice City Transport Company (DPMK). He says the most important contributions are the increased safety and speed. At the same time, the noise generated by trams will be lower. These are major improvements that involve passengers as well as inhabitants of the Nad Jazerom estate. The reconstruction costs should reach EUR 1.66 million.
