New Bratislava airport terminal opened

New terminal at Bratislava airport with annual capacity of 3,5 mill. passengers was opened yesterday after one and a half year construction. The first flight from the new terminal was by Danube Wings on scheduled return flight to Košice. Consequently, sanation and reconstruction of the current 40-year-old terminal will start which will take until February 2012. Construction of the new terminal and reconstruction of the old terminal will cost around EUR 96 mill. altogether. The interior design of the new terminal will be provided by London’s architectural studio Milieu Architects. ZIPP Bratislava was winner of the tender for construction of the new terminal and reconstruction of the current departure hall.
