Metrostav SK‘s turnover decreased by 23 % to EUR 67 mill. last year
Bratislava-based construction company Metrostav SK, reached a total turnover of EUR 67.14 mill. last year; this is a year-on-year decrease of 22.8 %. The economic result after taxation was a loss of EUR 4.64 mill. The volume of work on private commissions was EUR 48.6 mill. last year and work for the public sector was EUR 15.3 mill. The company explained the results by the deepening economic crisis, which is mainly noticeable in a fall of commissions, especially in building construction and commissions from private investors.
The company worked on 13 commissions last year, 8 of which were completed and handed over to their investors. Metrostav was the main contractor for the multi-functional centre River Park and Rezidencie Staré Grunty – Cubicon in Bratislava. Keeping in mind the changing market environment, the company‘s management reviewed the way forward in strategic planning at the end of last year. The company has approved a consolidation plan for 2010 which should eliminate negative impacts, adapt to new conditions and ensure a gradual stabilization for the following years.
