Nitra intends to obtain money for the intelligent transport system

The town under Zobor intends to obtain financial means for the intelligent transport system, which will ensure continual riding vehicles through signalised intersections. It has been in operation since March 2008 partially, however it does not cover the entire town. The project counts with central data collecting to the centre in Bratislava, where modules will be adjusted, by the vice-major Štefan Štefek. The Department of Transport and the Slovak Administration of Roads organize it. The intelligent system is accessible and it will enable for example fast crossover of a fire brigade, policemen or rescuers by „the green wave.“ The central is working at the Nitra municipal police station, from where traffic policemen can regulate transport according to information of safety cameras. The system cost 14 millions SKK paid by the town. Together 17 intersection controllers are hardwired there, which include not only intersections but also crosswalks. Its capacity is up to 256 intersection controllers.
