Nitra found the winner of the competition for a new face of Svätoplukovo Square
Svätoplukovo Square in the centre of Nitra ought to be built-up by other buildings in future. The architectonic complex with elements of water will dominate it. The new winning design of the urban-architectonic competition for the square new face from the workshops of M. Bogár, Ľ. Králik, J. Polyák and Ľ. Urban, who will get the compensation of 9 958.18 €, counts in with this. All the competing designs think on the square flattening, while the square is solved out by the artificial uphill with the fountain currently, as Štefan Lančarič from the department of the town architect at the municipal office, noted.
It was big interest in the anonymous competition held under patronage of the Slovak Chamber of Architects. The competition basic data which cost 99.58 €, took up 50 interested persons, 30 designers were delivered. Awarded designs will be on display at the Nitra Gallery. The winning design as well as some other awarded designs will be the starting point for changes and amendments of the planning scheme.
