Nitra: Another multi-functional hall to be built
Another multi-functional hall in Nitra is one of the 7 investment projects to be implemented in the form of PPP in the city between 2011 and 2014. Other investments include finishing the summer swimming pool area, renovation of market square at the housing estate Klokočina, completion of the football stadium, construction of cableway to Zobor, Centre of Leisure Domino – Mlyny and construction of interconnection road Dlhá – Novozámocká. The multi-functional hall should be used mainly for ice hockey, but also for cultural and social events and congresses. It will stand in place of the current adjoining ice rink at Sihoti City Park. The second alternative is a new leisure area at the new intended Párovské Luky housing estate. Nitra already has a multi-functional hall, since February 2008 the City Sports Hall has been in service at the housing estate Klokočina. Its construction began still under the former mayor Ferdinand Vítek.
