Slovak economy will grow by 3.5 %
Slovak economy should, according to bank analysts, grow slightly slower in the next year than expected still a month ago. According to regular survey by National Bank of Slovakia among analysts, the economic growth forecast for next year has been revised compared to November by 0.1 % to 3.5 %.
The banks leave the prognosis of gross domestic product for the last year without change and they expect real growth of 4 %. In the fourth quarter alone, they expect slowdown in economic growth to 3.3 %, while in the third quarter of this year it reached 3.8 %. Bankers leave the outlook for consumer prices without change. This year harmonized inflation should reach 1.2 % and next year is projected at 3.6 %.
Slovakia should thus return to positive economic growth figures. In 2009, in fact, according to the Statistical Office of Slovakia, Slovak gross domestic product declined in real terms by 4.7 %. In 2008 Slovak economic was still growing by 6.2 %.
