Quarter-to-quarter growth of property prices in third quarter

Housing property prices in the 3rd quarter of 2010 decreased year-on-year (yoy) by 1.4 % on average, however, the quarter-on-quarter (qoq) growth was already 0.85 %. Still in the second quarter they decreased by 3.7 % yoy and by 0.23 % qoq. Average price of 1 sqm of flats and houses reached EUR 1,304 in Slovakia in the third quarter. Data by the National Bank of Slovakia published in co-operation with NARKS, shows this.

The most significant qoq increase of average prices was in the Košice region: by 3.4 % to EUR 942. The most significant decrease in prices was in the Trenčín region, where average price fell by 2.65 % to EUR 662. The highest average housing property prices remain in the Bratislava region, where they increased by 0.9 % qoq and they reached EUR 1,740. In terms of flat types, properties reached the highest average per sqm in five and more room flats (EUR 1,555); prices grew by 0,9 % in three-room flats to EUR 1,278 and in case of four-room flats it remained at the level of EUR 1,259.
