Nitra is preparing for eventual solving current gas crisis

Nitra town is preparing for eventual solving lack of gas crisis. There has been a working meeting at the Town Hall aimed to deepen mutual informedness and co-ordination of particular institutions at the town in procedures in case of an extraordinary event. Employees of the municipal and district offices, town organisations, Službyt, housing association, teaching hospital, power plants, water-power plants, heating plants and fire-fighters were discussing on possible solutions.

The town has prepared crisis task force for case of natural catastrophes, disasters and extraordinary situations. The town also has a lot of information and basic data, including digital map and geographical-information system, which it is willing to offer to their partners in case of need. The town council does not want to express itself to particular considered steps in case of gas deficit in present situation.

There is almost one hundred percentages of gas-heated flats at Nitra, in Pavol Bielik, the director of the town-housing establishment Službyt, view. The only exemption is presented by 36 flats of lower standard at the Orechov dvor locality, where underprivileged inhabitants provide heating by electricity and solid fuel. Gas is also used for heating flats under administration of the Regional Building Cooperative Society, as well as in older flat-buildings in the town centre, which have its own boiler-houses. Heat is supplied by Nitra heating plant.
