The biggest building-up of flats at Liptov is being realized at Podtureň
Podtureň near Liptovský Mikuláš village lives by the largest building-up in the whole Liptov and also in the frame of Slovakia regarding number of inhabitants, the major Marián Vojtík told. „Since year 2002 we have built-up 8 residential houses involving 76 municipal rental flats. We decided to solve the drop of inhabitants, which we had only 400 in year 1998. When in year 2002 the possibility to build-up housing units with state support rose, we started going this way in order to solve unpleasant demographic situation of the village,“Vojtík told. The village registers approximately 500 applications for a municipal rental flat allotment. „Daily 2 to 3 new applications come. The village keeps the waitlist based on delivered applications. One third of lodgers in the built-up housing units belongs to inhabitants, the rest are cross-country people, “the major stated. Till now 5.7 mills Euro was used to build-up the flat houses in the village, most from the State Fund of Housing Development and only 100 thousand Euro from the village budget.
