NDS to declare call for tenders in November for R4 section of the Košice – Milhosť motorway
The Slovak National Motorway Company (NDS) plans to declare call for tenders at the end of November for the construction of 15.8 km section of the R4 speedway Košice – Milhosť leading to borders with Hungary. Expected costs should be amounting to EUR 142.7 million excluding VAT. “Construction of the proposed speedway section should substantially improve transport situation at the existing road network;“ informed the NDS. Division of transport between the existing road and the R4 should result in decrease of the transport load at the road of 1st class and in the decrease, especially in the built-up area, of negative impact for environment. Construction of the R4 section Košice – Milhosť which should start in February 2010 and be ready in February 2013, is to be financed from European resources, state budget and the NDS resources.
