15th April - new date for obtaining money for 1st PPP package
Private money for construction of five sections of total length of 75 kilometres of the D1 motorway between Martin and Prešov will not be available even on the 15th Feb. The new date for the financial closure of the 3 packages of PPP motorway projects has been postponed by another 2 months to 15th April. Ľubomír Vážny, Transport Minister confirmed this one day after signing the agreement with the consortium company Slovenské diaľnice (Slovak motorways). Postponing of the date was caused by environmental problems in connection with an Environmental Impacts Act amendment required by the European Commission (EC). The Minister does not think that the postponing should affect negotiations about a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) which should lend EUR 1 bill.
