9,342 buildings in Slovakia already have energy certificate
At end of 2010 9,342 buildings with energy certificate were registered by the Information system INFOREG with database of certified buildings. All of these have been sent electronically and recorded since early 2010. This is clear from the evaluation of performance measures in the Concept of energy efficiency in buildings by 2010 with a view to 2020. Developing support tools for improving energy performance of buildings was affected by the financial and economic crisis. The biggest potential savings are in rehabilitation of housing stock, particularly because of poor and neglected maintenance in previous years. The highest number of the 9,342 energy-certified buildings was registered in Trnava and Bratislava regions – 1,999 and 1,979 buildings respectively at the end of last year. In other self-governing regions, the numbers achieved were follows: 1,183 in Žilina, 984 in Prešov, 957 in Nitra, 798 in Trenčín, 777 in Banska Bystrica and 665 buildings in the Košice regions.
