Bratislava: the building up of the flood-protection dam is ongoing in spite of weather
The building up of the flood-protection dam is ongoing according to the plan in Bratislava. Building works in Viedenská cesta are getting to end, but weather makes them more difficult. Parts under ground have been finished according to Peter Minárik, the technical deputy of Slovak Water Management Company. Also problems related to unclear future of the Old Bridge have been solved. The city will repair it not reconstruct according to latest information, so the flood-protection dam can be build-up on all the stage.
Building works on the left bank of the Danube River are ongoing. The protection wall from the Old Bridge to Propeller is also finishing. Building works are also visible near the New Bridge. Also the building-up of the flood-protection wall is planned behind the New Bridge. The building also started at Devín and Devínska Nová Ves. Works were complicated by problems with owners of some lands, which the protection wall ought to pass thought. The stage at Karlova Ves from Botanic Street to Karloveská zátoka (cove) is also prepared.
