Second Aupark in Slovakia started operating in Piešťany

The second shopping and leisure centre Aupark in Slovakia was opened in Piešťany. More than 60 outlets will offer their goods and services on the area of 10 130 m2. The investment by HB Reavis Group exceeded EUR 25 mill. “We originally planned to build flats, however, it turned out that the residential sector has suffered losses. We reconsidered this and decided not to continue with the construction,“ explained the Head of Board of Directors at HB Reavis Slovakia, Slavomír Jankovič. “We required the surroundings to be improved and we requested for the building to fit in with the style of the town centre which was built in functionalism style,“ said Piešťany‘s mayor Remo Cicutto. “The town centre seemed to be empty therefore we renovated the pedestrian zone and we wanted to attract more people and life,“ he added.
